ABOUT ME
I am a local in the village of Armitage with Handsacre, which I have resided in for over 35 years. I previously bred and showed boxer dogs. Since getting my current boxer dog, Minnie, from a rescue in 2009, I have taken an interest in dogs to a business level. I now run a dog walking business specialising in off lead dog hikes as a pack. I find this extremely rewarding. I also cater for unsocialised dogs and offer an individual dog walking service to suit their individual needs. I offer home visits to all domestic animals which normally consists of a feed/let out service. I also have a pet taxi service which includes transporting your pet to a specified destination.
IMPORTANCE OF EXERCISE
I have learnt that exercise in a dog’s life is paramount! As dog owners we are responsible for providing our dogs with the four basic daily needs in order to have a happy and healthy pet. These four basics consist of Constructive social interaction, Proper exercise, Safety and security, and Food, water & shelter. Exercised dogs are well both mentally and physically. Whilst in my care your dog can benefit from Daily social interaction with both humans and other dogs in natural terrain which allows for them to safely engage in play and exercise.
DOG PSYCHOLOGY
I have an interest in dog psychology and I adopt these methods when working with the dogs. This ensures that I interact with all dogs in my care in a calm and assertive manner, essential for all pack leaders! This enables the dogs to benefit from a happy, relaxed and friendly environment at all times.
TESTIMONIALS
Our dogs are very important to us but with four of them, going out for the day is difficult. Claire has been caring for our dogs for three years and has done a fantastic job. We know we can absolutely rely upon her to look after and exercise them. When we return we are greeted by happy, relaxed and tired pets.
We have used Claire to walk our beloved border collie, Jess, for approximately 2 years.
Claire usually walks Jess once each day from Monday to Friday, but she will, if we need her walk her more often. I particularly remember last year on the occasion of our daughter’s wedding, when we were out for many hours, Claire kindly took Jess back to her home so that Jess wouldn’t be alone. Claire returned Jess in the evening and she was thoughtful enough to inform me through texts that Jess was fine.
Claire looked after Milo, our chocolate lab since he was 8 months until we left the area 2 years later. Milo loved being with the other dogs each day. Claire did a great job, very reliable, very caring, I would heartily recommend!
I am delighted to give Claire a reference, Claire has been walking my Lab/Cross dog for 3 years now and he loves her.
Claire has always been reliable and caring with my dog communicating any concerns she has identified whilst he has been in her care. I might add that Claire is dependable and professional; she is extremely good and very competent when handling my dog, who can be boisterous and full of fun! When Claire started to walk my dog she introduced him to the others by keeping him on the lead until he was confident and all the dogs where familiar with each other, I found this extremely reassuring, as I was a little apprehensive about him meeting the older dogs.
